Joint fieldwork between master’s students of TKUJP and students of Business Breakthrough University was carried out. (Nov. 25, 2023)

TKU and Business Breakthrough University, or BBTU, signed an exchange agreement in 2016, and since the following year have offered joint courses on the subject on Taiwan-Japan relations. The program had to be suspended during the pandemic period as BBTU students were unable to visit Taiwan for the fieldwork, but it has now resumed after a four-year absence.

Nine students from BBTU came to Taiwan on 24 November, and on the next day, together with eight TKUJP master’s students, conducted fieldwork in four groups on the themes of 'New immigrants', ''Old streets' culture in Taiwan', 'Localization of Japanese food service companies in Taiwan' and 'Architecture during the Japanese colonial period' (Some of the following linked photos were taken at the interview conducted for the first theme above in 'Indonesia Street'). All the research was quite successful thanks to the well-organized preparation. An online debriefing session was held on Dec. 16 which each group reported on their findings.

On 26 November, students from the both sides took a tour to Xinbeitou Hot Spring Area.
